Applebee’s Big Apple Burger Recipe

If You enjoy Applebee’s Big Apple Burger, You will LOVE making it at Home with our Easy Recipe. It is "Two grilled half-pound patties covered with double the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese then topped with four slices of bacon, red onion, lettuce, tomato and a creamy horseradish sauce" of goodness.*

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground Beef or Chuck
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices cooked Bacon
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • 4 slices Tomato
  • 4 - 6 slices Red Onion
  • 2 Extra Large Rolls
  • Applebee's Big Apple Burger Sauce (See Box Below for this Recipe)
Instructions
  1. Applebee's Big Apple Burger Sauce according to recipe in the box below. Set aside.
  2. Divide the meat into 4 large patties.
  3. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill or fry until done on one side. Flip.
  5. Add one slice of Cheddar and 1 slice of Montery Jack cheese to each patty.
  6. Cook until done to you preference on second side. Remove from skillet or grill and build burgers.
  7. Build the Burgers
  8. Slather the top and bottom buns with sauce.
  9. Place the bottom bun on a plate and build the burgers in this order - lettuce, 2 slices tomato, 2 -3 slices red onion, 2 patties and 4 pieces bacon.
  10. Place the top bun on and grab some napkins - this is one monster burger.

Makes 2 Burgers 
 
   

Applebee's Big Apple Burger Sauce Recipe



Ingredients
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Horseradish
  • 4 tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Water
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried Oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients.
  2. Store in a tightly covered container, in the refrigerator, until ready to serve. Can be done in advance. Bring up to room temperature before using.
  3. This sauce is delicious with deep fried onions and other vegetables or deep fried meats such as shrimp or wings.
